Bertone is celebrating it's 90th birthday with the debut of the Novanta concept vehicle. Novanta returns to a classic Bertone theme - that of an executive saloon. Novanta relies on drive-by-wire technology from SKF, for the control of all major driving systems.
..
The car is built on a SAAB 95 chassis with a 3.0L V6 engine and automatic transmission. It's fully driveable (unlike many concept cars) but lacks basic amenities that would be on a real production car such as air conditioning, windshield wipers, external mirrors and cup holders.
Sat behind the Guida you are a long, long way from the dashboard and its centrally mounted instrument display, staring through a vast wraparound windscreen reminiscent of a Saab. That's appropriate, because this car is based on a 9-5 - it's powered by the 200 bhp 3.0 V6 - although the Swedish company has been too busy to get deeply involved in the Novanta's look.
